CASA GAMES, 2021 FLAG OFF
Members of the County Assembly of Kitui as well as staff today held the official flagging off ceremony for the 3rd Annual County Assembly Sports Association (CASA) Games, 2021 to be held in Mombasa County. The event was presided over by the acting Speaker Hon. Frederick Nthuri (Tharaka), the Vice Chairperson Committee on Tourism, Sports and culture Hon. Deiys Mukala (Waita) and the Clerk of Assembly Mr. E.M.A. Mutambuki.
The theme of this year’s edition is “Harnessing the power of sports and culture in re-igniting hope and restoration in times of crisis”
Taking a recap of the 2019 CASA Games held in Uasin Gishu County, Kitui County managed to bag a number of wins in the various disciplines at the event including Badminton team, Football, Darts and Chess which had some of the best players nationally and were able to represent us in Uganda at the regional level.
Members of the County Assembly were urged to continue taking the necessary precautions as relates to the Covid 19 pandemic, to be careful and not to let down the guard during the sporting event.
