SPEAKER HANDSOVER NEW OFFICE BLOCK FOR CONSTRUCTION.

Today marks a notable milestone in the progress of our Assembly as the County Assembly Service Board under the leadership of the Speaker Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya handed over the site for construction of the new office block to the contractor.
The proposed Seven (7) Storey office block will serve as a focal point for the operations of our Assembly, housing the offices for all Honorable Members and our staff as well as other amenities.
This project was first proposed in 2018/2019 financial year budget after which the tender was advertised in 2021 and awarded in 2024 to Centurion Engineers and Builders Limited Company. The project is expected to take approximately 2 years to complete.
The contractor promised that they will deliver as expected in the shortest time possible and that quality won’t be compromised and also promised to incorporate the locals in this project.
In his remarks during the ceremony, the Speaker reiterated that the new office block will enhance service delivery in the Assembly and to the people of kitui at large. “By providing our members and staff with modern office space, we are not only improving working conditions but also promoting efficiency and effectiveness in the discharge of our duties”.
Additionally, the Speaker asked for support, political goodwill and cooperation from the Executive Government, the Members of Assembly, the staff , the people of Kitui and all other stakeholders involved in this project during the estimated time the project is expected to last siting that this project will be a shared glory and a success for not only the Assembly but the people of Kitui.
