ASSEMBLY ADJOURNS INDEFINITELY

The 2nd County Assembly yesterday afternoon adjourned for the SINE DIE recess, a recess with no appointed date of resumption. This is pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order No. 25(3) and in line with its Annual Calendar. It however means that members can be recalled for a special sitting to deal with an urgent county matter through a gazette notice.

The adjournment motion was moved by Athi ward MCA Hon. Peter Kilonzo who is also the Majority Party Leader and seconded by Township Ward MCA, Hon. Antony Ndooh. This motion was supported by majority of the members, who had each been given a chance to make their penultimate speech.

The Assembly Speaker Hon. George Ndotto commended MCAs for the support they accorded him as the Speaker of the Second Assembly. Ndotto also applauded MCAs for the selfless service and dedication they demonstrated in carrying out their constitutional mandate as members of the County Assembly. He further wished all MCAs the best of luck in the forthcoming elections.
