KITUI COUNTY ASSEMBLY SERVICE BOARD PAYS COURTESY CALL TO KITUI COUNTY PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD

Members of the Kitui County Assembly Service Board (CASB), led by the Speaker of the County Assembly, Hon. Kevin Kinengo Katisya, on Thursday, 18th December 2025, paid a courtesy call to the Kitui County Public Service Board (CPSB) at its newly established office complex, following an invitation by the Board’s Chairperson, Dr. Florence Makindi.

During the visit, Speaker Kinengo congratulated Dr. Makindi and the CPSB members for their remarkable achievement in establishing the modern facility, noting that it was a clear demonstration of dedication, visionary leadership, and prudent management of public resources.

The Speaker observed that the County Assembly Service Board and the County Public Service Board play complementary roles within the county government framework and are bound by a strong collaborative relationship. He noted that while the Assembly Service Board is responsible for the administrative and human resource functions of the Assembly to support effective legislative work, the County Public Service Board is mandated to oversee recruitment, promotions, and staff welfare for the wider county workforce, which includes over 5,000 employees who form the backbone of service delivery to the people of Kitui.

He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting the CPSB, particularly through advocacy and approval of adequate budgetary allocations to enable the Board to effectively discharge its mandate. The visit also provided an opportunity for CASB members to benchmark on the successful completion of the CPSB office project, drawing valuable lessons to support the County Assembly’s ongoing efforts to complete its own modern office block.

Speaker Kinengo emphasized that the two Boards would continue to strengthen collaboration and partnership in order to enhance service delivery, promote good governance, and improve the welfare of all county staff for the overall benefit of Kitui residents.
